GIG POSTPONED!!! Sorry for the inconvenience all - but we had to cancel our performance at Our Lady of LaSalette due to Paula's spinning head injury (see posts below) and a family emergency with another band member. I guess it's just not our week!!! But, have no fear - we will be back at the DSO (if you have tickets -it is sold out!!) on March 18th! After that, lots of gigs and RECORDINGS planned!!! Tons of stuff going on - just can't post right now (or else, what would I post later!!)

READY FOR ACTION!! Okay - so I have been laying around for 5 days with my head wound. I have watched the following movies: "Must love dogs" (cute), "The Village" (wow, what a surprise ending!), "March of the Penguins" (amazing), "Dukes of Hazzard" (fell asleep), "Legends of the Fall" (Brad Pitt was x-tra hot in this one), "The Family Man" (hhmm, family or money?? - that's a hard one - hahaha), and "Bend it like Beckham" (I love Indian food!!). I want to thank all my neighbors who made me dinner (Debbie, Cindy and Noelle) and took my kids (Daniela, Heidi, Melanie,Debbie), took me to the doctor (Maggie) and went to the store (Melanie). I also want to thank my family for being there and being patient as I recover from this crazy wound (I promise I will never ice skate again!!). Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! xoxo A.Joy

So much for my 2 weeks off. I took the girls skating yesterday (for my first time on the ice) and fell. Had to be taken away in an ambulance, have 5 staples in my head and an acute concussion. Ouch!!! Guess I won't be getting any olympic gold medals any time soon.
Send prayers and thoughts to A.Joy (not so xoxoxo)

2 WEEKS OFF!! And let me tell you it is much deserved. After playing 4 shows in 26 hours at the Detroit Zoo and going through Motown Winter Blast - it is really great to have some time off. Our next gig is at the Open House for Our Lady of LaSalette in Berkley. It is a catholic school where some of my friends go. We played last year and had a blast. So - if interested or just wanna see us - c'mon by on March 2 (Thursday) at 6pm.

I LOVE THE DETROIT ZOO!!! Candy Band just played 4 shows in 26 hours at the zoo. We performed in the brand spanking new Ford Educational Center. It is the most beautiful building!! There was a puppet show, free hot cocoa, carnival games, face painting and of course Candy Band concerts. I visited with the polar bears and saw the wolverines "acting up for the camera". It was a glorious weekend and I want to thank everyone who came out. The zoo is a great place to go in the winter time - alot of animals are out enjoying the fresh air and the ones that are in their houses - you can see the up closer than ever. We'll be back in August for another concert, but I will visit alot before then. For hours and more info - visit www.detroitzoo.org

It is our last public appearance for awhile - we do alot of private gigs (schools) that we really can't advertise. Also, our DSO show is sold out!! C'mon down and we can sing with the animals. Maybe Dr. Doolittle will be there?? I hear there is a puppet show at 1pm.
