I'm off to LV for a few days and very happy about it. I am most looking forward to visiting my family.....But.....more than the "strip", fine dining, warm weather, etc. - I am very excited about Red Rock Canyon. Love that park. Wanna do some hiking. Last time I went there I brought home a suitcase full of cool rocks - don't think I'll do that this time!!! xoxo A.Joy

I wanted to post another pic of our vacation. This is Laurel Falls in the Smoky Mountains. I thought they were quite beautiful but scary when we arrived there on our "be careful, many steep vertical drops" hike. There was really no guard rail and as you can see - don't step too far back when taking a photo. I am sitting on the bench with one of my daughters in this photo - I was quite nervous. I don't like heights and I always love the comfort of a guard rail!!! xoxo A.Joy

Wow - just returned back from a great vacation with my family. We went to the Smoky Mountains, Cumberland Gap and Mammoth Caves. The weather ranged from 82 to this beautiful scene complete with 14 inches of snow up on the Newfound Gap in the Smokies. Didn't matter to us - it was beautiful and when we were cold, we retreated to our private mountainside hot tub! What a beautiful part of the country!!! xoxo A.Joy

Come and see us at the Ann Arbor Main library tomorrow at 1:00 pm. We're looking forward to a rockin' show! See below:

National Library Week Concert: Candy Band
Tuesday April 14, 2009: 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm -- Downtown Library: Multi-Purpose Room
They're back! Candy Band- the famous Detroit rock group for kids- will return to AADL to perform a live concert. You have never heard ‘The Alphabet Song’ or ‘It’s Your Birthday’ played like this! Candy Band is comprised of four Detroit area stay-at-home moms who were sick to death of “whiny music” for kids; so in 2003, they formed the first kid’s band that really rocks. With influences like the Ramones and Iggy Pop, they quickly attracted attention from The Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, the London Times, People Magazine, The Today Show and many other national and international media outlets. The band plays hard rocking versions of nursery rhymes, movie themes and other children's favorites. They were a smash when they appeared at AADL in September – do not miss them this time around!

OK, call us crazy... but we have a new dog! That makes three. Pretty soon they'll be call us the "crazy dog people". My hubby says if I bring home a 4th, it's grounds for divorce. But even he is loving our new dog, Bella.

Had a nice gig at Pembroke Elementary School in Birmingham yesterday. What a nice school they have there!!! It's always fun to play in the middle of the day during the week when our own kids are at school - kind of like a rock-n-roll coffee hour!!! Next up?? The Ann Arbor Library on April 14 - location: Downtown Ann Arbor - one of my favorite places to play!! xoxo A.Joy
