Went to Lily's Seafood in Royal Oak last nite to see Mydols Lite - with my girlfriend Maggie McCabe on backup vocals and acoustic guitar. It was alot of fun and I sure love that restaurant. My friends and I ordered a baked brie appetizer and it was the best ever. And did you know that kids eat free on Tuesdays?? check them out at http://www.lilysseafood.com

Went to an awesome party at the Brown compound last night. Was able to jam with a bunch of guys doing very bizarre covers of Coming Round the Mountain and Jimmie Crack Corn. Had to learn a quickie version of Spongebob - very dark actually - but fun. Finished off with some Black Sabbath of course! Then when it was Kareoke (how do you spell that word???) time I sang "Half Breed" by Cher. Managed to jack it up pretty good - my specialty!!

Doctors have concluded that if you find the man in the coffee beans in 3 seconds, your right half of your brain is better developed than most people. If you find the man between 3 seconds and 1 minute, your right half of the brain is developed normally. If you find the man between 1 minute and 3 minutes, then the right half of your brain is functioning slowly and you need to eat more protein. If you have not found the man after 3 minutes, the advice is to look for more of this type of exercise to make that part of the brain stronger!!!And, yes, the man is really there!!!

We had alot of fun in Coldwater. The Tibbits Opera House was beautiful - we brought all of our kids and they especially loved the indoor pool at the Holiday Inn! Please have us back next year Coldwater. Last month Jeff Daniels sold out the house and next month Junie B. Jones will be there.

What a difference a year makes. Here is Candy Band last year when we played in Coldwater. Kit Kat has a new hair color, Starburst lost some hair, Skittles gained some hair and A.Joy kinda looks the same.

What kind of changes do you notice???

Yeah, today is Friday (my personal fave day of the week). It's also the day I like to bring my kids home for lunch from school. The only problem is that they don't want to go back to school after lunch. They still long for their kindergarten days when they could stay home all afternoon. Too bad - I am enjoying my afternoons to myself (I just love cleaning and errands!!)

In this month's issue of Cookie Magazine, there is a small interview with Perry Farrell about kids music and it's role at Lollapalooza this year. He is quoted as saying "When we created Kidzapalooza, we found great childrens acts: this year we have people like the Candy Band, Justin Roberts (pictured with us backstage) and Peter DiStefano.

Go out at get the Sept 2006 issue of Cookie!!

Yesterday I went to the Dalley in the Alley (this is a street fair near Wayne State University campus in Detroit). It was a blast. Lots of fun bands and people. Saw some awesome bluegrass (The Syreens) and my friend Mike Murphys band the Space Heaters. Ran into alot of friends and even some kids in Candy Band t-shirts. Had lunch at Traffic Jam and Snug during the rainstorm - when we came out of the restaurant, the weather was great again. Thank you Dally coordinaters for another great year!!!

UCK! This morning my husband made pancakes. I sat down ready to eat and poured some real maple syrup on them. Out of the syrup comes a big blob of mold. I had to put my whole plate of pancakes, turkey sausage and syrup in the garbage. Good morning!!

I was just cruising my pics - and wow - doesn't this rat look fake? This is our first one named Cuddles. Priscilla (our dog) hated her - but she sure liked to cuddle anyways. She was a Blue Dumbo. Blue (because she was blue-gray? and dumbo because she had big ears).

RIP Cuddles

Remember when......
The summer lasted longer....
It was August.......
We didn't have to get the kids up for school.......
Batman was in town.......
(he was hot, his core temp was rising)

My dog Priscilla is so weird. She hates any kind of delivery person (mail, UPS, Fed Ex) and barks like crazy at them. It is to the point that if a hundred vehicles (cars, trucks, vans) drive by, she will not bark. But, if a UPS truck drives by - she goes crazy!!! Go figure.

Long live the crocs!!

Wow-summer is coming to an end. Tomorrow is the first day of school. The band had a very busy summer and look forward to playing a school near you!!!
Picture at left is a schoolhouse from 1871. Could you imagine grades k-12 attending this school at the same time (ok, it would have to be a smallish class).
Good luck tomorrow kids!!
