This is another picture of my favorite new band Wolfmother. Please click on the attachment and you can see them play a song live (also you can see me standing backstage by Perry Farrell and the guitar tech for this band) - the girl in between Perry and I won a trip from Australia (that is where Wolfmother is from) to come to Chicago and see them live - she has on an Australian flag shirt.

Don't know who all is into the Woodward Cruise - but most of our neighborhood is. We have been going up there most nights to watch the old cars race and show off and it is becoming the meeting place to see everyone. The kids love it and so do the parents (and non-parents, I have to keep remembering that everyone doesn't have kids). So if you see me standing on Woodward, give me an ol' "A.Joy" shout. Maybe I should start throwing Candy Band stickers at people (I don't dare stick them on the cars, people go to great lengths to polish and not abuse their classic wheels).

Wow - what a whirlwind life I live. After playing at the Library last Wednesday, Novi on Thursday, Lollapalooza on Sat and Sun, Tuesday in Northville and Wed in Hamburg. Then I had a blind wine tasting b-day party yesterday, today company is coming for the weekend, we are having a family bbq tomorrow (along with a gig in Rochester) and we play Milford on Sunday (oh yeah, and the zoo next Wednesday). Plus a Woodward Cruise party next week - aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh. I need a vacation (that's coming up too!!)

WOW!!! Lollapalooza was AWESOME: Here are my personal highlights:
1-Performing on the Kidza stage right after Patti Smith.
2-Meeting Jack White.
3-Watching Wolfmother from the stage (pictured at left) while standing between Perry Farrell and the guitar tech for Wolfmother.
4-Patting Josh Homme on the back (Queens of the Stone Age singer) and telling him to kick some butt on stage!!
5-Talking to Ella Jenkins and listening to a song she sang just for me about Detroit!!
6-Getting interviewed by Lil Ratzo from Chic-a-go-go!!!
7-Trying out 7 guitar pick-ups at the Gibson guitar booth backstage
8-Seeing Tor again (thank you Tor - I love you!!)
9-Meeting fellow kids performer Justin Roberts
10-Hanging out with Matt Pinfield from MTV
11-Staying in the same hotel as Matishyahu
12-Riding back to the hotel with Ben Kweller in the Lolla van.
WE HAD A BLAST!!!!! - Oh yeah - and the Chilli Peppers rocked too!!!

Tonite we played at the Novi Civic Center - the kids all ran around in huge circles - we were getting dizzy and asked them to stop - but they didn't. Go figure - kids not listening to moms!!
Oh well - LOLLAPALOOZA is this weekend. Anyone from Motown coming out?? www.lollapalooza.com
We can't wait - will have lots to report upon our return!!!

Wow - what a hot one last nite at the Royal Oak Library. We had a great crowd - thanks for coming out - Congressman Sander Levin was even there!!
Our concert in Northville tonite has been moved indoors due to rain to the Civic Center, 45175 West Ten Mile, Novi, MI 48375.

Okay - I took alot of guff from my neighbors last night for not posting more "personal things". Here is my day yester in a nutshell: Woke up, got an oil change, dyed my hair (wanna look good for Lollapalooza), gave a 16 yr old girl a guitar lesson, welcomed my neice Julian from Las Vegas, had lunch, went swimming, cooked dinner, ate dinner, went to the neighborhood ice cream social in 100 degree heat, played with a police dog, came home and wished Rob Mapley a happy birthday, partied with the neighbors (especially Mike V!!!), watched 11 kids splash in the pool until dark, viewed the wedding of Kip and LaFawndah (Napoleon Dynamite) and then went to bed. Is that personal enough for ya? I wish the other band members would post - if you ladies happen to read this - please post NOW!!
