I LOVE FURBY and so does my dog!! My daughter got a Furby for Christmas and so did Starburst's daughter. We got them together and they talk to each other. They were quite chatty - one wanted to tell jokes and the other wanted to sing and then go to sleep. They told each other they loved them. So cute. Tonight I am going to a NYE party at my neighbors house. She invited 24 adults and their kids!!! That means there will

Should be super crazy!!!

PAINT BY NUMBER THIS!!! My girls were given paint by number sets for Christmas. Last night we decided to start them. I think this project is gonna take a month at the very least. There are spots to paint that are so small, the tinest of brushes aren't small enough! In fact, none of us can really stay in the lines on this. Then, as I was closing a paint container that Becca left open, the blue paint spattered all over my painting! I was trying really hard to make mine actually look good. I have a whole new appreciation for Picasso!!!

WHAT A FUN CHRISTMAS I HAD!! My whole family came over and I prepared the most wonderful beef tenderloin. My lovely hubby gave me an undercounter CD player so I can listen to Barry White in the kitchen while cooking. My oldest daughter got a microscope so we can look at her dead cicada and her sister got Monolopy Junior which we have played several times already and she asked me to play as soon as she woke up this morning. Santa even brought the dog a new stuffed animal to shred up!!!

ITALIANS ROCK! Yesterday we played at the Venetian Club. I wasn't sure what kind of gig is was gonna be until we arrived. It was an Italian Club and this was the Christmas party for the children of the club members!! They sang every song (kids and adults!!) and served us up the best Italian food ever. They were one of the most hospitable groups we ever played for. I sure hope they ask us back next year!!

Today was my birthday... One of my gifts was the new White Stripes CD. As we were listening to the White Stripes "Blue Orchid", my five year old commented... "I don't know what the in the world they're saying, but it's a cool song! "

We had a great time playing with Free Beer at the New Way bar last night. Thanks to my bandmates for presenting me with a COWBELL for my birthday. MORE COWBELL! After almost killing Skittles and Almond Joy with falling cymbals last night; I hope the cowbell doesn't mean I'm being "sent out to pasture".

WHAT A NIGHT!!!
Wow, last night I rec'd some last minute tickets to Aerosmith/Lenny Kravitz. My new friend Gary gave them to me. It included parking right up front!!!! Our seats were in the front row on the side of the "little side stage" - you know, the one that the performers run out to so they can rile up the crowd. When Lenny Kravitz was on, I was waving to him and he comes over and says "what you want"? I took his picture with my daughters Walgreen camera. Aerosmith hit the stage and the crowd went nuts. I was so thrilled to be up so close. Joe Perry was on our side of the stage - and when he came over during "Walk This Way", he was so close you could touch him. Steven Tyler then came over and of course Rob shook his hand (with the same hand that he used to shake Billy Idols hand). During "Dream on" the bass player, Tom Hamilton, came over and sang the song with the crazy crowd I was with. Towards the end of the night, Gary comes out to sit with us and hands me the Aerosmith set list. It was cool that I knew what songs they were gonna do next.
We had such a blast! What a great, great show!!!!! Aerosmith played all their old songs from Get your Wings and Dream on. WOW!!!!!

I SHOULD BUY STOCK IN THE POST OFFICE!! Yesterday, Becca wanted some Christmas card to fill out for her friends. I had a bunch of extra so I gave them to her. I was off doing someting and I come back and she had gotten my stamps out (real ones!!) and was putting them on her envelopes (in the wrong spot, I might add). I told her those were very expensive stickers and luckily peeled them off (carefully). Whew - I got lucky this time!!!

BELLE TIRE
Yesterday we played at Belle Tire's Christmas Party. There were 1200 people there. It was the biggest Christmas Party I have ever seen in my life. We were able to eat at a show for a change - that was good!!!
Did anyone watch Survivor last night? I really didn't want Dani to win - blah!!

CROMIE ROCKS! Tonight we played at Cromie Elementary School. They sold over 500 tickets and I gotta tell you, they are the wildest crowd!!! Our guest singer "Reeces" came up and sang "Happy and you know it pick your nose" with us. We debuted our new songs (and didn't screw them up!!) and the police were even there (I wonder if he bought a CD?) Great show, great crowd, great fun.

NOT ENOUGH SNOW!! I waited for the call this morning (I am a room parent). I was secretly hoping to get a snow day today. It just didn't snow enough for that - but I still have to shovel. Oh well, looks like I have to go into school and be helper mom instead.

Puppy
Last weekend we went to pick our puppy. I thought it would be hard to chose one (out of 6), but we knew right away... we named him Nigel and I will pick him up as soon as we're back from Switzerland. He will be 8 weeks by then and I think that's a good age. We can't wait!!!!!

WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR CHRISTMAS? How about our new single "I Want A Big Fat Cookie For Christmas"?
You can download it for free in our "What's Happening" section!!
Enjoy - A.Joy xoxo

COMPLAINT OF THE DAY!
Okay, I know I am asking for it with a trip to Toys-R-Us during the holiday season, but this place was unreal. The return line was longer than Rapunzels hair, the cashiers were charging for multiple items that were not purchased so everyone was crabby and the guy in front of me (I ALWAYS pick the wrong line) had to get all his stuff re-entered in the already stuffed with cash. register, for what reason I do not know. When the cashier asked me for my phone number for survey purposes, of course I gave her the wrong one!! While I was trying to pay, a lady came up and asked my cashier if she remembered her purchases from last week, cuz she was overcharged. The cashier started to complain to me and I said "Hey, I gotta get outta here!!!"
Yikes, looking forward to January!!!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND - LOVE, Kit Kat, Skittles, Almond Joy and Starburst xoxoxo

PIZZA CLASS 101! Today I taught a cooking class at the YWCA and we made pizza. A little Asian girl was in the class and told me she didn't like sauce or cheese - she just wanted bread. I talked her into a little sauce and cheese and told her to make it for her mommy - she would like it with those things on it - this was not a bread making class!!

OH HOW I LOVE ROAMING THE NEIGHBORHOOD AT 6:30am IN MY PAJAMAS AND WINTER BOOTS. I let the dog out to pee and when she didn't come back - I feared the worst - the gate was open and Priscilla was gone. I hope I didn't wake the neighbors up shouting her name!! I found her at the end of the street "sniffing" other dogs "messages" on the trees. BAD DOG!!! Today I am getting a lock for my gate!!!

OH NO!!!! My kids and Skittles kids go to the same school... I thought we had made it through without catching the flu. Wrong! Emma threw up twice last night! Looks like I'm headed for a LONG DAY! The funny thing is, she seems fine (no fever, chills, etc). So who knows what kind of bug she's got.

Wow Skittles (see below). I hope that doesn't hit our school!!! Sometimes I get excited when the kids don't have school unexpectedly - but sometimes it kinda sucks!!
xoxo A.Joy

Today at 1 pm our school closed due to a stomach flue outbreak. In one class there where only 3 kids left another had 5. All together over 100 kids where sick today, so they decided to close for the weekend. If feel like having three ticking timebombs at home now, they could blow any minute........I guess there goes my Xmas shopping tomorrow!
