Sunday, we have the honor to play at the American Guild of Music Great Lake Regional Contest. We will be performing in front of about 750 kid and their families at the Westin Detroit.
As a guitar instructor, I am very excited about checking some of these kids out. I advise everyone to take up a musical instrument today!!!

AH RATS!!! This morning we were playing with our rat Cleo and we forgot to put her away when we left for school. I came home after running errands and she was sitting in the dog dish chowing down.
She must have jumped off the couch & had run of the house all morning. Priscilla wasn't too happy with that.

Weber Inn Rocks!!! Some of the Candy Band moms and their friends took a bunch of kids for a couple of nights to the Weber Inn in Ann Arbor for a night of craziness, swimming and dino bones (we visited the Museum of Natural History). Lots of fun - I am tired and waterlogged. I played a crazy game of "what would you rather do" with all the kids. My fave was: Would you rather sit in a snow bank naked for 10 minutes or eat a jar of mayonaise? One kids actually said he liked mayo so much that he would have no problem eating a jar of it.
What would your rather do???

One more thing about Lily's Seafood. When I told my 5 year old daughter that I would be waitressing there, she asked me if they served fish?

HAPPY EASTER!! Got up early today, the Easter Bunny was here - lots of candy!!! Yesterday, my girls (along with a friend) spent the afternoon filling up plastic eggs with bugs, grass, pine cones and stuff like that - so when the girlfriends brother came - he would have to look for them all over the yard - thinking there was candy in them. Girls can be so mean!!! xoxo A.Joy

Wow, our waitress gig at Lily's Seafood sure was alot of hard work. We did manage to somehow keep a smile on our face!!! Personally, I would make a terrible waitress!! I get to talking and forget about all the people waiting for stuff. Sorry if you were in my section!!

Tomorrow night will be one wild ride if you come to Lily's Seafood Grill and Brewery from 6-8pm (410 S. Washington in Royal Oak.) The Candy Band and the Mydols will be serving dinner at 6 o’clock . . . but not to their own families. They’re planning to serve it to yours.

Any tips these hardcore moms earn, will be used to offset the cost of putting on – Mamapalooza – a rockin’ moms music concert being held Friday, May 5 at 8 p.m. at the Royal Oak Music Theatre. (http://mydols.com/mamadetroit.htm)

Detroit’s Mamapalooza will feature Kathy Valentine (of the Go-Go’s) & The Impossible with performances by Detroit Women with Motor City Express, The Mydols and The Candy Band. Lynne Woodison, host of the WCSX 94.7 Classic Rock morning show in Detroit, will emcee the evening.

Tickets are $15 in advance (children discount tickets available) and $17.50 at the door. For more information on Detroit’s Mamapalooza call 248.544.1291.

We appreciate Lily’s allowing us to come in for a night and raise money to help a great cause – The Boll YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. It’ll be a fun night with music by Maggie McCabe. We’re even offering 21 free raffle tickets to win a $500 Champagne Pink sparkling Daisy Guitar if you buy two Mamapalooza tickets at Lily’s.”

Also, at the gig yesterday, a kid asked me if he could have my guitar. Hahahahahahaha - I told him NO!
